INTRO

"Health Psychology Laboratory" was found in 2014 and hosted by Tseng,Yu-han, leading students to develope on health psychology issues. We focus on children's (especially teenagers') coping and adaptive behavior while their parent are suffering from cancer.

Our features is probing and intervening health psychology from academic aspects. In the past, most health psychology researches were focus on medical field, and the main subjects were patients with tumor or chronic disease. However, paitents' commom mental issue (especially for terminal illness) is transfering their life focus from work to family, and value family time even more. How to get along properly become a problem for some paitents, not to mention for children(teenagers). Children have to face lots of uncertainties and problems due to parent's cancer. What's their difficulities? How do they interact with parents?  How do they adapt theirselves? Because of the growing cancer rate on middle-agers, it's suitable for schools to investigate and intervene for students facing this difficulty, and provide them with health education and supports. Not only can help children and parents interact, but bring positive life quantity to those parents' suffering from cancer indirectly.

Our lab also discuss other health psychology issues, including stress coping and indivisual mental adaptive, and athletic and mental health, etc. If you share same interest with us, we welcome you to join us!
